You are expected at the Royal Military Academy on Monday 17 August 2026 (POL, Special Division, Pil/ATC and Auxiliary) between 07:00 and 07:45 (French-speaking) / between 07:45 and 08:45 (Dutch-speaking) or Tuesday 18 August 2026 (SSMW) between 07:00 and 07:45 (French-speaking) / between 07:45 and 08:45 (Dutch-speaking). Parents (max. 2 persons) may accompany the candidates and will be given a briefing, as well as a tour of the RMA. More details will follow at a later date. On the programme:
Reception and administration
Drawing up documents concerning your family situation
Division of cadets into groups
Briefing on the candidate soldier's status
Medical examination
Signing of enlistment.
Reception of enlistment papers
Speech by the commandant of the RMA, the director of Basic Education Officers and the head instructor
Passport photos taken
Fitting of clothing
From the day of enlistment, the ‘boarding regime’ applies.
After enlistment, the instruction phase begins. No visits are allowed during this Military Initiation Phase (MIP).
Mobile phone use is not allowed (except in exceptional circumstances).
For military personnel, please report in 4A uniform and bring your corps gear, as well as your military suitcase.
